I used to drink Yamazaki 12 back when it was $32/bottle.
18 year when it was $99 per bottle.
Decent Scotch-like whiskey, but at these current insane prices, laughable – it’s still Japanese Scotch knock offs. The cult like following can gave it, I just go back to my precious Lagavulins and Glen-whatevers which are as good or better for $80 bucks tops.
I remember those days too. Hibiki 12 and 17 were cheap as well. I love Japanese whisky, but Scotch is far and away the better value right now. Don’t see it changing anytime soon either.
Yep, exactly. I’m from the UK and I used to drink the 12 year when it was £40 a bottle and I got a bottle of 18 year for £110 once.
