Kawaba is a microbrewery in Gunma, Japan. Their Sunrise Ale is one of the few readily available amber ales from the country.
This malty and rub-hued beer is much less intense than its American counterparts. It has a roasty and caramel-flavored malt profile with just enough hop bitterness for balance. It’s a light Japanese craft beer despite the rich color. It’s fantastic with cooked Japanese dishes like yakitori and teriyaki.
