Orion Beer is one of the principal beverage brands from the islands of Okinawa, Japan. The brewery was founded in 1957 by Sosei Gushiken.
Orion is made in an American industrial lager style. This means rice, corn, and starch are part of the mash bill, alongside malted barley. The rice and corn provide a supple texture. The starch is useful to increase head retention— something industrial beers are not known for.
