It’s hard to argue against Ichiro Akuto’s Chichibu Distillery being the most exciting Japanese whisky producer right now. They rack up prestigious awards annually, and 2021 has been no different.
The 2021 Ichiro’s Malt and Grain Limited Edition uses a blend of malt whiskies from Chichibu and Hanyu plus a 40-year-old grain whisky from Kawasaki. Even on paper it sounds like a spectacular blend!

Asahi Releases the Nama Jockey Can
In an effort to produce a better beer can drinking experience, Asahi will be releasing a new Super Dry variant. Their Nama Jockey can is unpasteurized (like draft beer) for fuller-flavor. The top also opens up entirely to allow for a better appreciation of foam and aroma.
