The sake world is blessed with a number of interesting styles of serving vessels. The most common today is the o-choko. These smaller cup can be made from a variety of ceramics or even glass. The larger guinomi holds more sake and is offers a more robust tasting profile. The ornamental sakazuki is a shallow and wide cup that’s often used ceremonially. It doesn’t hold much sake, but it sure looks cool. Slightly more modern is kiriko. This cut glass style has a beautiful appearance and a high price tag.
