Mars Iwai Tradition Blended Whisky

A bottle of Mars Iwai Tradition Whisky

Mars Iwai Tradition is the more serious stablemate of Mar Whisky’s blue label Mars Iwai. Tradition uses 75% malted barley, and 25% corn. A tiny amount of the malt is peated lending a whiff of herbal smoke on the nose.

Mars Whisky is produced by Hombo Shuzo. Their Shinshu Distillery in Nagano is the highest in elevation in Japan. The cool climate means a lighter distillate and slower maturation.

This Mars Iwai whisky was found at Umi Sake House in Seattle, Washington.
