Hakushu 18 is a Single Malt whisky from Suntory. It’s distilled at the Hakushu Distillery in Yamanashi using a variety of pot stills. It’s aged for 18 years minimum in a variety of cask types– though the perfumed Mizunara oak is reserved for Yamazaki and Hibiki.
The Hakushu 18 has a more herbal, peaty character than Yamazaki. It’s still fruity and fresh however. It’s incredibly complex and balanced with a crisp finish. Somewhat peaty malt takes the centerstage alongside fruit. Oak character is less prominent.
